Oludeniz is one of the very few places on earth where a 1,960-metre mountain drops almost straight into a turquoise lagoon. That combination — Babadag’s height, reliable thermals, and a wide, sandy landing zone right on the beach — is why pilots from every continent come here, and why tandem paragliding in Oludeniz is on so many bucket lists. Flights run daily from April to November, with launch points between 1,200 m and 1,900 m chosen to match the day’s wind and weather. You don’t need any experience, any fitness level beyond walking a few steps, or any equipment — your pilot takes care of everything.
We meet in Oludeniz and drive you up Babadag in our shuttle. The road itself is an experience — pine forest, hairpin bends, and the lagoon shrinking below you.
Your pilot fits your harness and helmet, explains the takeoff, and answers every question. The most important instruction is the simplest one: when the pilot says run, keep running until your feet stop touching the ground.
You run 5–10 steps together, the wing inflates above you, and the mountain simply falls away. Most passengers say this moment is far gentler than they expected — there is no jump and no free-fall.
You sit back in a comfortable harness while your pilot rides the thermals over the Blue Lagoon, Belcekiz Beach and Butterfly Valley. Want a calm, scenic glide? Say so. Want spirals and G-force? Ask for acrobatics — it’s your flight.
You touch down softly on the promenade at Belcekiz Beach, usually to an audience of applauding sunbathers.

Every Atmos pilot is SHGM-licensed (Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation) with thousands of tandem flights logged. Wings, harnesses and reserves are inspected daily and replaced on manufacturer schedules, not when they wear out. Every flight includes third-party liability insurance, and we simply don’t fly when conditions aren’t right — if the wind says no, we reschedule you free of charge. Oludeniz has hosted millions of tandem flights over three decades; flown with a licensed professional, it is one of the safest adventure sports you can do.
The season runs late April to early November. June to September brings the most reliable conditions and the longest flying days; May and October offer clearer air, softer light and fewer crowds. Morning flights are typically the smoothest — ideal if you’re nervous. Afternoon thermals give longer, more dynamic flights. July and August sell out days in advance, so book early in high season.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes — trainers are perfect. Bring a light jacket even in August; it’s noticeably cooler at 1,900 m. Sunglasses are recommended. Maximum passenger weight is 110 kg, and under-18s need parental consent. Glasses and phones can fly with you, but secure them — the lagoon keeps what it catches.
