Soar above one of Turkey's most stunning natural wonders.
Yes — and it is one of the flight's secret highlights. Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi) is a dramatic canyon that splits the cliffs just south of Ölüdeniz: 300-metre rock walls, a hidden beach and a valley floor reachable only by boat or a serious scramble.
From a paraglider you get the view no boat passenger ever sees: straight down into the canyon, the beach glowing between the walls, waterfalls tracing the rock in spring.
Flights from the higher launches often route along the coastal ridge toward the valley side before turning back over the lagoon for landing. Whether it is included depends on launch height, wind and conditions on the day.
Want to be sure? Tell your pilot before takeoff — when conditions allow, pilots are happy to shape the route around the sights you care about most.
The valley is named for the Jersey tiger butterflies that gather there in summer. It is a protected nature area:
The classic combination: paraglide in the morning to see the valley from above, then take an afternoon boat trip to swim at the very beach you flew over. Few places on Earth let you experience the same landscape from the sky and the sea in a single day.
Not automatically — it depends on launch, wind and conditions. Mention it before takeoff and your pilot will include the valley side whenever conditions allow.
No — it is a protected area with no landing zone. All flights land at the Ölüdeniz beach landing zone; the valley is enjoyed from above.
Spring brings the waterfall and greenest canyon; morning and late-afternoon light give the best contrast on the cliff walls year-round.
