Main Beach Landing Zone

Detailed guide for pilots flying into Oludeniz.

Where Exactly Do Paragliders Land in Ölüdeniz?

Every tandem flight from Babadağ ends at the designated landing zone on the Ölüdeniz beach promenade, beside Belcekız Beach. It is one of the most spectacular landing sites in the world: you descend over the sea, turn onto final approach and touch down metres from cafés, palm trees and the turquoise water.

The zone is managed and clearly marked, with a windsock indicating the day's wind direction. Spectators can watch every landing from the promenade — which is exactly why friends and family love waiting here.

How Does a Beach Landing Work?

Your pilot flies a standard approach pattern: a downwind leg over the bay, a base turn, then a final approach into the wind for the slowest, softest touchdown. A few metres before the ground you simply lift your legs, then stand up as speed washes off.

The vast majority of landings are gentle enough to walk away smiling. In stronger conditions the pilot may ask you to slide in on the harness seat — a normal, safe technique.

Why This Landing Zone Matters for Your Flight

The beach location means the whole final part of your flight happens over the water, with the lagoon and Babadağ behind you — the best photo minutes of the entire experience.

It also makes logistics easy: you land in the centre of Ölüdeniz, seconds from where you can celebrate with a drink, collect your photo package and walk back to your hotel.

FAQ – Ölüdeniz Beach Landing

Is the beach landing difficult or scary?

No — for passengers it is the easiest part of the flight. Your pilot handles everything; you just lift your legs for the final metres and stand up when told. Most landings are as soft as stepping off a stair.

Can my family watch me land?

Yes. The landing zone is right on the Ölüdeniz promenade, so friends and family can watch the whole approach and touchdown, then meet you seconds later.

What happens if the wind changes during my flight?

Pilots monitor conditions constantly and the windsock shows the live wind direction. If the main zone becomes unsuitable, experienced pilots divert to alternative landing areas — see our guide to alternative landing zones.
